GOAT tells the story of an adolescent goat herder turned child refugee of the Balkan War who becomes the best football player in his tiny nation, then in the entire world.

GOAT is the true story of World Cup finalist and 2018 Ballon d'Or (Greatest Footballer in the World) winner, Croatian Luka Modrić. Based on My Autobiography by Luka Modrić, GOAT is RockyHoop Dreams, or The Queen’s Gambit of European football prodigies.

But while GOAT is a series about the ultimate underdog overcoming impossible odds to reach the top of his sport, what makes Luka’s story different is that prior to the defining tournament of his life, the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Luka was charged with perjury by Croatian courts for covering up for national officials accused of embezzlement and corruption. To stay out of jail, Luka is forced to overcome again, using the World Cup as his platform, his podium, and that summer month in 2018 is where our hero becomes a worker of miracles by leading his tiny nation of four million people to the World Cup Final, which leads to him winning the Ballon d’Or, which definitively says Luka is the GOAT: Greatest of All Time.
